International French Teacher’s Day

On the 26th of November, Alliance Française of Banjul was all active celebrating the International French Teacher’s Day.

International French Teacher's Day

In the morning, a French delegation presented to the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Claudiana Cole, a new version of the French curriculums and books. These documents are the outcome of a collaborative work lasting one year and gathering 20 Gambian experts, 3 experts from Alliance Française of Lyon and 3 experts from Réseau Canopé, an institution creating pedagogical resources and part of the French Ministry of Education.

The afternoon was even more joyful with the participation of around 200 people who came to honour the learning of the French language and the French teachers in general. These teachers came into the limelight with songs, dances, and poems. They were also handed out an Information Technology (I.T.) training certificate and a laptop.
