In Banjul, the minister met with the President of the Republic of Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, and marked France’s support for democratic consolidation in the country.

This support will be manifested by an unprecedented commitment of 50 million euros over 4 years, which will make France the first bilateral donor, and the signing of financial agreements for projects in agriculture and access to clean water.

The minister concretizes the reinforcement of the French presence by inaugurating the new French diplomatic antenna in Banjul and by visiting the Alliance Française of Banjul as well as the building site of the new French school.

The Minister participated in the fifth Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa and delivered a speech on African peace operations. He will recall France’s support for the adoption of a resolution on these operations in December at the United Nations Security Council.
