France is supporting the teaching of French in The Gambia !

At the end of 2018, Xavier Wasson, attaché de coopération at the French Embassy in Senegal, pointed out during a meeting in The Gambia, the commitment of Emmanuel Macron to develop education in Africa. At that time, a group of thirteen Gambian pedagogical advisers were trained, in order to participate in a project to improve the teaching of French.

The partnership signed by the Ambassador and the Minister s meant to make a diagnosis of the needs in terms of teaching of French in The Gambia, and to offer trainings to French teachers in The Gambia, both to improve their linguistic and didactic skills.

On a bigger perspective, this cooperation will help to start a larger regional integration of The Gambia in francophone West Africa and to facilitate the employment of Gambians, who will be able to master the French language.
