This year the Alliance will organize the World Music Day on June 22 from 8pm.

Several styles of music will be performed such as Jazz, Salsa and French and African variety.

The Fête de la Musique was set on June 21, the day of the summer solstice. A large, free, popular event open to all musicians, amateurs of all levels and professionals, it celebrates lively music and showcases the breadth and diversity of musical practices, as well as all musical genres. It is aimed at all audiences and helps to familiarize young and old with all the musical expressions of all social conditions.

It is also known as World Music Day, although the French name is also often used in some English-speaking countries.

The Fête de la Musique aims to promote music in two ways. Under the slogan, "Make music! It encourages amateur musicians to volunteer on streets and public spaces. Thanks to the organization of many free concerts, amateurs but also professionals, it allows a large public to access music of all kinds and origins

Internationally, the Fête de la Musique is promoted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as by its embassies, consular representations and cultural partners abroad, including the worldwide network of associations of the Alliance Française in France. the different countries of the world, which organize their own local events, or support local initiatives of free musical events open to all.
