Le regard du crocodile
The river gave its name to Gambia and shaped its territory. It crosses the country, structures history, conditions access to trade, fishing, agriculture and water for many, but remains on the margins of the collective imagination.
« The Crocodile’s Gaze » lies in this gap: at the border between documentary and emotion, the relationship between the territory and its inhabitants surfaces in customs, landscapes, and gestures. A discreet yet structuring relationship, made up of habit, distance, and dependence.

The Alliance Française of Banjul invites professional artists to apply to its residency program at the Maison des Artistes la Musa Ngun. We are open to artists of all disciplines who wish to develop meaningful projects in The Gambia, within a collaborative and culturally rich environment.
